Computer simulation of physical phenomena is one of the major areas of RFNC - VNIIEF activity. The Institute has a highly capable staff of scientists and the country's largest computing resources. The Institute's scientists have developed calculation methods for most sophisticated problems and created unique software, neutron and nuclear data banks and characterization libraries with the very diverse information on material properties. Also, they have checked out unique procedures for calculations and theory.
The scientists have been particularly successful with their numerical studies in application to the multidimensional continuum mechanics or energy and particle transport problems, numerical simulations of laser ICF physics, nuclear power safety and ecology problems, or design of high-performance computing systems, etc.
