Setting-up of this plant solved the problem of processing a diamond, an inherently unique material, at a qualitatively new level. For this purpose the latest achievements in science and engineering were used. High-quality processing greatly increases the stone value and at the same time retains its merits such as brilliance, clarity and color while minimizing the effects of natural imperfections. Diamonds can be used not only in the jewelry industry, but also in electronics and medicine.
RFNC - VNIIEF specialists have mastered serial production of brilliants having classical round (KR-57) and fancy facet patterns ("Emerald", "Princess", "Marquis", "Pear", "Oval", "Heart", "Baguette", "Square", "Trilliant", etc.) and made of natural diamonds in a wide range of dimensions and weights. Commercially produced is jewelry of precious metals with inserted brilliants, other precious and semiprecious stones.
The brilliant cutting area is provided with modern equipment based on advanced unique diamond processing technologies such as an optimum cut of rough diamonds, computer-aided laser cutting and micro marking of diamond products.
Highly artistic articles may be made at this jewelry production plant based on custom design of any complexity. It also renders exclusive order services. The high quality of products was certified by foreign and Russian experts, which allowed the products to occupy their own niche on domestic and foreign markets. RFNC - VNIIEF opened a jewelry shop where jewels with brilliants and certified brilliants are sold and orders of the citizens are executed.
Thus, the problem of a closed cycle (from raw materials to commercialization of finished products) has been solved.
The diamond and jewelry production business is further aimed at winning recognition on the international brilliant and jewelry markets and mastering new diamond product manufacture technologies. A wide application of diamonds for artificial crystalline lenses in ophthalmology is not impossible in the future.
