The Head of the State Corporation ROSNANO Anatoly Tchubais, the Head of Rosatom Sergey Kirienko and the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev visited the Russian Federal Nuclear Center on 9 February, 2012.
The broadened session of the Council of Directors of OJSC “Tekhnopark-Sarov” was held within the visit.
The leaders of state corporations and the region were familiarized with design projects pursued by VNIIEF and Tekhnopark, yet implemented in various industries. The briefing was held after the session. Anatoly Tchubais underlined: “What we have here is the unique potential, which can be used for commercialization of a bunch of technologies, accumulated in the nuclear center so far. For this potential to find an outcome, or, in other words, for large-scale innovative business to be attracted serious efforts are needed, including the intellectual administrative resource, which is to be added. Combination of numerous factors can provide us with a chance of propelling important federal-scale projects for the next 10, 20 or even 50 years”. Sergey Kirienko pointed: “We have to provide the nuclear center with gross defense and civil projects. The potential of the nuclear weapon complex is to be used to create new job appointments and to acquire additional incomes, which can be implemented for development of the city of Sarov and its infra-structure. That is why we can not underestimate the importance of Tekhnopark, the endeavor, stipulating commercialization of the unique potential of the atomic branch. The knowledge and the successful technologies, previously implemented only for the needs of atomic industry, are now used in power industry, mechanical engineering and other industrial branches. The nuclear center has the governmental support. The solution was adopted to fund infrastructure of the associated territories, in particular as far as development of clusters goes”. Anatoly Tchubais further indicated the perspectives for Tekhnopark: “What we have so far - are mighty customers, what we yet miss – are small innovative companies. The classical solution to this problem are venture funds. A venture fund has to be established and the financing sources/investment amounts needed for start-up of a company are to be identified. What is implied is not a single project but the bulk of small innovative projects, to which we are ready to provide support. ROSNANO is also ready to allocate its enterprises in Tekhnopark of Sarov city”. Sergey Kirienko added to this: “It is of ultimate importance for us that the companies executing the projects of the nuclear center for GAZPOM, RZHD and another important customers be allocated just here. We will provide these companied with the full-scale access to the resources, VNIIEF disposes of: super-computers, programming capabilities, the unique experimental base and the production lines capable to fabricate trial samples”.
